ACE MODEL, DEDICATED TO DOWNWIND FOILING, WING AND SURF

The Ace Foil features the iconic pin-tail design for efficient takeoff and downwind tracking. The teardrop-shaped outline seeks optimal aerodynamics, since this outline is one of the most aerodynamic natural shapes. The slightly lowered foot area provides the pilot with a more stable and connected feeling with the foil. By being closer to the water, the pilot has better control and balance, which is essential for precise and safe maneuvers.

 

The Ace Foil turned out to be a versatile and versatile board, capable of adapting to different modalities such as SUP downwinding, light wind wingboarding and SUP surfing.

THE LEGACY

Starboard's infamous ACE raceboard was an industry-first design that redefined downwind raceboard design. First produced as a 12'6″ SUP Race board and debuting at the Battle of the Paddle in 2009, the ACE (originally called “The NEW”) was available in many iterations and sizes ranging from 12' models 6″ – 14'0″ between 2009 – 2021.

This year, the ACE has been reborn in a new range of measures, for an innovative modality: Downwind SUP Foiling.

 

NEW ACE OUTLINE

The teardrop outline is the most effective, as it offers uniform volume and a stable design.

 

NEW NARROW WIDTH

Designed for speed in downwind (upwind) and early takeoff in foil. The goal of the Ace Foil is to allow riders to quickly catch the waves or take advantage of bumps and gusts of wind to get high on the foil and reach impressive speeds. This model is available in narrow sizes from 19″ to 23″.

 

NEW PIN TAIL

Tracking and efficiency are two key aspects of pintail design. The pin tail offers great tracking to catch bumps, while also reconnecting with the water, allowing for a more efficient, cleaner and less rough takeoff and landing on the water.

 

NEW ROUNDED RAILS

The rounded rails were originally designed for ease of use in rough sea conditions. This same concept has been carried over to the Ace Foil model, which not only creates ease in the choppy but also allows the board to have incredible spring when pumping up to the foil.

 

NEW ROCKER

The rocker is tuned for speed, spring and larger bumps. The rockerlinen is designed to optimize performance and maneuverability in different conditions, including those involving higher speeds and turbulent waters.

 

NEW 16” FOIL BOX

With many iterations of downwind foils on the market, the 16″ foil box meets any foil preference. This downwind model features a “more forward” box for a comfortable and well-fitting downwind foil.

 

NEW BOARD SOCK

Protective cover designed to protect the board from dust, scratches and damage caused by ultraviolet (UV) rays. Made with elastic polyester, it adapts to different board shapes. Ensures optimal maintenance of the board and has a secure cord closure

FULL CARBON WRAP, WOOD REINFORCEMENT

  • It offers an all-carbon construction that combines strength and weight at a truly competitive price.
  • The biaxial carbon shaft wraps around the entire deck and rails, giving you excellent weight and strength characteristics with a competitive advantage.
  • Carbon stringers in the deck provide additional impact and stiffness.
  • Additional fiberglass reinforcements wrap the edges and interior rails of the cockpit for greater rigidity and strength.
